Guwahati: A massive consignment of suspected Yaba tablets was seized by the police in Karbi Anglong, Assam on Thursday.

According to sources the suspected drugs were intercepted based on an input with the police.

On Thursday evening, based on the input, a police team in Karbi Anglong set up a checkpoint near the Dilai intersection.

During the check, the police recovered 25 bundles of suspected Yaba tablets.

In the bundles, an estimated 50,000 pills weighing 5.3 kg were found.

The police apprehended one suspect with the said consignment.

The seized items are estimated to be worth several lakhs in rupees.

An investigation has been initiated to identify the source and destination of the contraband items.
