The Arunachal Pradesh unit of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Tuesday filed FIRs against BJP’s national president Amit Shah for allegedly “emboldening criminals across the country” at Doimukh and Itanagar Police Stations.

State NSUI president Teli Mello Camdir said Shah has “misused” every Governmental office he has assumed so far. “He continues to misuse his office as BJP president by brazenly abusing his authority to subvert the Constitution,” alleged Camdir.

The Arunachal Pradesh NSUI chief also demanded steps against Shah holding him responsible for many cases of crime during his tenure as Gujarat Home Minister.

The NSUI also pointed fingers at Shah for the encounter of one Sohrabuddin Sheikh on November 26, 2005 when he was the Home Minister of Gujarat.

“The prosecution witnesses in the Sohrabuddin case are being pressurised to rescind their earlier statements given to the investigating agency and turn hostile… All this is being undertaken with the knowledge of Shah with an objective to shield the guilty persons,” the NSUI leader said.

Camdir also alleged, “Shah violated the personal space and privacy of a woman and misused his position as Home Minister of Gujarat to carry out surveillance on her at the behest of Narendra Modi, then Gujarat Chief Minister.”

The NSUI leader also said, “Using his clout he helped the Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank collect Rs 745.59 crore of high-value currency before those were demonetised on November 8, 2016.”

“Shah is a threat to public peace and order. He continues to intimidate young women, activists, judges and minorities in the country. A state of fear and intimidation looms over the people of this country,” Camdir said.
