The East Siang Police of Arunachal Pradesh has claimed to have solved a burglary case with arrest of two thieves on Thursday evening.
East Siang Superintendent of Police (SP), Prashant Gautam, informed on Saturday that the recovered items which included computers were stolen from Ruksin Higher Secondary School in the month of February.
The operation was carried out by Ruskin Police.
“These computers and other scholastic materials were meant to facilitate the school children to develop their knowledge and skills and to be competent future adults,” the SP stated.
After thorough investigations and subsequent information from the locals, suspects were arrested who have been identified as Tony Koyu of Jonai of Assam and Penam Tamat of Sille-Oyan of East Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh.
“Stolen computers and other items were also recovered from their possession. Further investigation into the matter is going on and recovery of stolen items in other cases by these accused persons cannot be ruled out,” added the SP in his statement.
SP Gautam has appealed to the people to come forward with information to facilitate in other investigations too to ensure that anyone connected in any other theft cases, be brought to justice.
The SP congratulated the police team comprising officer-in-charge, Ruksin PS, Sub-Inspector L Ori, investigating officer ASI Apai Jamoh, NK ML Tayeng, constables L Ojha, N Bori, M Modi, K Jamoh, N Riba and T Karpuk for their brilliant act during the operation as their hard work has yielded the desired result.
Gautam stated that sense of security increases among public especially a long-time criminal is taken off the street.
