Dhubri Police arrested a Bangladeshi national and seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) with a face value of around Rs 1 lakh from his possession.
Police said acting on specific inputs, a special team of Dhubri Police, accompanied by Gauripur Police in the district, launched an operation and apprehended the Bangladeshi national.

The arrested Bangladeshi national has been identified as Omar Faruqe, a resident of Kurigram district of Bangladesh.
The police seized fake Indian currency notes of the face value of Rs 1 lakh.
It is suspected that the seized fake Indian currency notes were smuggled from across the Indo-Bangla border on Saturday night.

The Bangladeshi national was arrested from the house of one Amir Ali, a resident of Jhagrarpar Part IV village under Dhubri Sadat police station.
Dhubri superintendent of police Anand Mishra said, “There are reports that fake Indian currency notes and cattle smuggling syndicates are again gearing up and the people involved in it are trying to revive the illegal trade.”
In this connection, police also arrested two Indian nationals.
The arrested Indian nationals have been identified as Amir Ali of Jhagrarpar village and Sah Alom, a resident of South Salmara, who helped the Bangladeshi national to cross over the international border and provided shelter in Indian territory.
Police further investigation is on.
