Dimapur: Students, faculty members, staff and officials of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland on Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Government of India’s 100-week Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, pledging to promote a healthier and drug-free society through sustained awareness and youth-led initiatives.
Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav attended the programme at the NIT Nagaland campus in Chumoukedima as part of the nationwide campaign against substance abuse.
The 100-week campaign, launched by the Government of India, aims to mobilise young people, educational institutions and communities to combat drug abuse and contribute to the vision of a Vikshit Bharat.
During his visit, the Governor toured a poster exhibition featuring awareness campaigns and creative exhibits prepared by students to highlight the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of a drug-free society.
Commending the students for their creativity and commitment, Yadav encouraged them to become ambassadors of the campaign and spread the message of a drug-free future within their communities.
The Governor, along with students, faculty members, and other attendees, also watched the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s address marking the launch of the nationwide campaign. In his address, the Prime Minister urged the country’s youth to lead the fight against drug abuse and play an active role in building a Vikshit Bharat.
