Congress leader and former All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi has arrived at Dibrugarh on Friday to campaign for the party for the ensuing Assam Assembly elections 2021.
Rahul Gandhi was received at Dibrugarh Airport by party’s Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh, Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, Nagaon MP and Assam’s Congress Campaign Committee chairman Pradut Bordoloi and other party leaders.
Confirming the news, Congress on its official Twitter handle said: “Shri @RahulGandhi arrives at Dibrugarh Airport to begin his 2-day campaign trail of Assam.

“Assam, we are here to listen to your hopes & fears, concerns & aspirations,” it wrote.

After his arrival, Rahul Gandhi has started interacting with college students at Lahowal in the Dibrugarh district.
Congress has fielded Manoj Dhanowar for the Lahowal Assembly seat.
After Lahowal, Rahul Gandhi will participate in a tea workers’ rally in Chabua Assembly at 1 pm.
Congress has fielded music director Ajoy Phukan for the Chabua seat.
At 3 pm on the day, Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting at Doomdooma in Tinsukia district.
Congress has pitted Durga Bhumij for the Doomdooma Assembly seat.
