Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday filed his nomination from the Majuli constituency.
Sarbananda Sonowal is the sitting BJP MLA from the Majuli constituency.
Sarbananda Sonowal submitted his nomination papers before the Returning Officer at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Majuli.
Hundreds of BJP workers and supporters accompanied Sonowal in a procession for the nomination filing.

Top BJP leaders including DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh, BJP’s Assam in-charge Bijayant Panda, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Assam State BJP Chief Ranjit Dass accompanied Sarbananda Sonowal in the massive procession.
Other leaders of BJP’s alliance partners – AGP and UPPL were also present in the roadshow.
Majuli goes to polls in the first phase of Assam Assembly elections on March 27.

As per the election affidavit submitted by Sarbananda Sonowal, he has total assets worth Rs 3.17 crore, an increase of Rs 1.32 crore between 2016 and 2021.
