Iranian hand has been suspected in the IED explosion near the Israel embassy in New Delhi on Friday.
A letter recovered from the blast site mentioned it as a “trailer”, said sources.
According to media reports, the letter mentioned Iran’s General Qasem Soleimani and Iran’s top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh as martyrs.
Soleimani and Fakhrizadeh were assassinated last year.
During an airstrike on January 3, 2020, ordered by then US President Donald Trump, Qasem Soleimani was killed near Baghdad International Airport.

On November 27, 2020, Iran’s top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was killed in Tehran using a satellite-controlled machine gun.
Iran blamed Israel for the attacks on the top leaders of the country.
General Qasem Soleimani was considered the most powerful military commander of Iran.

The Delhi Police spokesperson on Friday said the blast was caused by a “very low-intensity improvised device” and there were no injuries.
However, the window panes of three cars parked near the blast site were damaged due to the explosion, the spokesperson said in a statement.
“A very-low intensity improvised device went off at 5.05 pm near 5 APJ Abdul Kalam Road near Jindal House,” the Delhi Police spokesperson said in the statement on Friday.
“No injury to any person is there and nor any damage to property was witnessed except window panes of three vehicles parked nearby. Initial impressions suggest a mischievous attempt to create a sensation,” said the statement.
