At least 215 people were killed in a total of 699 road accidents in Guwahati in 2020.
All major and minor road accidents are included in these 699 accidents.
The spike in the number of road accidents in Guwahati is due to violation of traffic rules.
Notably, no decrease in number of road accidents has been witnessed in Guwahati despite several road safety awareness programmes undertaken in the recent past.
