BJP and AGP leaders have held a high-level meeting in Dibrugarh to review the preparedness for the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar district on January 23.

The meeting was held at Kiran Bhawan in Mancotta Road in Dibrugarh on Friday.

The Prime Minister is expected to distribute land pattas to more than one lakh beneficiaries during a function to be held at Jerenga Pathar.

BJP top leaders have started visiting Assam to take stock of the poll preparedness ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.

CM Sarbananda Sonowal, agriculture minister Atul Bora, union minister for food processing Rameswar Teli, ministers Naba Kr Doley, Jogen Mohan, Sanjay Kishan, MPs Kamakhya Tassa, Pradan Baruah and Tapan Gogoi participated in the meeting.

All MLAs and senior party workers of BJP and AGP of 30 assembly constituencies in 11 Upper Assam districts also attended the meeting.

State BJP members said that they were very hopeful of PM Modi’s visit to Sivasagar.
