An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered from Kongba Bazaar area in Manipur’s Imphal East on Monday.
The IED was recovered by a team of Imphal East police and Assam Rifles after receiving information about the same.
The IED was recovered at around 10 in the morning after the team of security personnel conducted a cordon and search operation at the Kongba Bazaar area in Imphal East.
A bomb disposal squad was immediately rushed to the spot upon recovery of the IED.

The IED was finally diffused by the bomb disposal squad at around 11am.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the recovery of the IED.
No militant outfit so far has claimed responsibility of placing the IED at Kongba Bazaar in Imphal East.
