Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on Tuesday inaugurated the new complex of Champhai College in Champhai along the Indo-Myanmar border.
The Rs 9 crore complex, funded by the Ministry of Development for North-eastern Region (DoNER), has housed seven new buildings equipped with guest house facilities and staff quarters.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Mizoram Chief Minister Thanhawla urged the students across the State to utilise the infrastructures his government has provided.
“Our government has built several infrastructures across the State, most of the infrastructures we built have to be utilised by the youths of Mizoram. We have provided state-of-the-art sports infrastructure in almost all the districts of the State and now we are in the process of building infrastructures in the health and education sectors,” Lal Thanhawla said.
“The quality infrastructures need to be reciprocated by quality education, the ball is in the court of the students and the teachers,” Lal Thanhawla said.

We have already put in place the New Economic Development Policy, under this policy uplift of the youths and creating avenues for the younger population of the State in the industrial sector are the major components, youths of Mizoram should come forward and assert themselves by it, Lal Thanhawla said.
The newly-inaugurated complex holds a Multipurpose Hall, Arts & Commerce building, Science & BCA building, Administrative & Library building, Boys Hostel, Guest House and Staff Quarters.
