The GBP hospital in Agartala remained without power supply for several hours on Thursday night, causing immense problems to the patients there.

It is the biggest hospital in Tripura and along with COVID-19 patients, several other critical patients are also treated here.

The state government declared the hospital as a dedicated COVID-19 hospital when coronavirus cases began to spike in the state.

Such a critical hospital and such a critical time, the hospital was without power for several hours on Thursday night and it has been alleged that the hospital doesn’t have any dedicated person to look after the power supply unit.

Only on Wednesday, Chief Minister Biplab Deb had visited the hospital and spoke to the staff about improving and developing the services provided to the patients.

However, just after 24 hours after the CM’s visit, the hospital was plunged into complete darkness for several hours.

The patients faced a lot of difficulties due to this power cut.

The patients alleged that the hospital authorities did not listen to their problems and there was no one to restore the power supply.
