A total of 100 police personnel, including the superintendent of police, Rajveer, have tested positive for COVID19 in Lakhimpur district in the last 24 hours.
Till 7 pm on Tuesday, 72 people tested positive for COVID19 in Lakhimpur district as informed by the district health department.
Four police personnel, infected by COVID19, belong to Ghilamora police station.
Five teachers of North Lakhimpur Govt. Higher Secondary School have also tested positive for COVID19 in North Lakhimpur.
Earlier, community spread of COVID19 was reported in the headquarters of the 13th Assam Police Battalion at Lilabari in North Lakhimpur.
Till Tuesday, a total of 3,760 Assam Police personnel have tested positive for COVID19 across the state, said additional director general of Assam Police (law and order), GP Singh in a tweet.
A total of 3,375 police personnel, who earlier infected by COVUID19, have recovered from the disease, Singh informed.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 16 Assam Police personnel so far.
