A COVID-19 positive woman on Thursday gave birth to a healthy baby in Assam’s North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital (NLCH).
The pregnant woman, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier, was successfully operated at an emergency Lower Segment Caesarean Section at Mother and Child Care operation theatre of the hospital.
She delivered a male baby at the hospital and presently the condition of both the mother and the child was well, said hospital sources.
On the other hand, one more COVID-19 patient succumbed to the disease in Lakhimpur district.
Rohinee Borgohain (52), an ex-serviceman of Indian Army died during treatment at Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.
Buragohain was first admitted at Ghilamora Block Hospital on Tuesday following respiratory problems.
He tested positive of Covid after RAT test and was rushed to North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. He was later shifter to AMCH in Dibrugarh where he died.
