A Kashmiri youth accused in the Pulwama terror attack case has sought permission from the NIA Special Court in Jammu, to appear for the upcoming NEET 2020 exams.
As per reports, Waiz-ul-Islam has filed an application for bail in order to appear in the national level exam held to select students for admission to medical courses across the country.
The bail plea is listed to come up for hearing before the special NIA court on September 3.
However, NIA is all set to oppose the application when the case comes up for hearing on September 3, as Waiz was a terror associate to Jaish module, playing a key role in ordering explosives from e-commerce sites for the 2019 terror attack.
The agency had last week filed a charge sheet against Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar Alvi and 18 others in a special NIA court in Jammu in connection with the Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.
The main case is slated to come up before the court on September 15.
Meanwhile, the NEET 2020 exam is scheduled to be held on September 13.
Amid nationwide protests over the postponement of NEET and JEE exams, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had released an advisory for smooth conduction of the exams.
The NTA had said that the NEET (UG) and JEE (Main) examinations will be held as per schedule in view of the academic interest of the students.
