Six more COVID-19 positive persons in Assam died on Friday, taking the death toll in the state to 175.
Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday that of the six dead patients, one from Hailakandi, one from Kamrup (Metro), two from Kamrup (Rural), one from Goalpara and one from Karbi Anglong district.

All the deceased are aged between 38 and 81 years.

With this, the total number of persons losing their lives due to COVID-19 in the state has gone up to 175.
A total of 2,706 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the state in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 719 cases were reported from Kamrup (M), 264 from Dibrugarh, 258 from Kamrup (R) and 145 cases were detected in Nagaon district.
Assam has so far recorded a total of 74,501 cases of COVID-19, of which 49, 383 have recovered. The state has now 24,940 active cases.
On Friday, 2, 3 10 patients were discharged from different health care facilities of the state.
