The Teok branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Jorhat district has been infected by COVID19.
Four employees of the Teok branch of the SBI have been confirmed as positive for COVID19 during the Rapid Antigen test, conducted in the branch on Tuesday.
The employees of the SBI Teok branch, who have tested positive, are S. Pal. J. Saikia, P. Bora and P. Rajak.
The customers of the bank panicked after the news of the detection of COVID19 spread as wildfire.
The branch manager of the Teok SBI branch, Pinak Dutta informed Northeast Now that all the activities of the branch will remain closed for five days up to Sunday in the first phase.
Dutta informed that decision on re-opening of the branch would be taken later.
Assam so far has registered a total of 45,275 COVID19 positive cases while 33,428 patients have discharged from the hospitals or Covid Care Centres across the state.
Assam currently has 11,135 active COVID19 patients while the deadly disease has claimed the lives of 109 positive patients.
