Manipur registered the State’s first COVID-19 related deaths on Wednesday morning.

The patient was chronic kidney disease was on maintenance haemodialysis at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).

The patient passed away early morning.

The body has been kept at the RIMS morgue till the time of filing this report.

Notably, the State has witnessed 22 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday without having travel history.

They are being shifted to COVID care facilities.

Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, 56 persons were discharged from RIMS and other COVID care centres across the State.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur on Tuesday is 2,317.

The number of active and recovered cases is 702 and 1,615 cases respectively, it added.

The recovery rate is 69.70 per cent.
