A total of 314 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam on Tuesday.
The good news was shared by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the day when the total number of COVID19 positive cases registered in the state increased to 7,835.
The total number of discharged COVID19 patients in Assam now stands at 5,647.
With the release of the 314 COVID19 patients, Assam’s recovery rate currently stands at 72 per cent, the health minister claimed.
“Discharge Alert. Glad that 314 more patients have been discharged today in Assam, taking our recovery rate to 72%,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
He expressed gratitude to the Corona warriors of the state for the improvement in the recovery rate.
Assam currently has 2,173 active cases.
On Tuesday, another person died of COVID19 infection in Assam, taking the state’s death toll to 12.

“I am sad to inform that 50-yr-old Mr Dilip Talukdar of Fatasil Ambari, Guwahati was brought dead to GMCH on June 22. Subsequently, he was tested positive for #COVID19. With this our death toll goes up to 12,” Sarma said in an earlier tweet.
