Arunachal Pradesh urban development secretary Dr Sonal Swaroop along with Capital Complex deputy commissioner, Komkar Dulom and his Papum Pare counterpart, Pige Ligu on Monday visited the State Quarantine Center (SQC) in Lekhi near Itanagar and took stock of its preparedness.

The SQC has been set up to accommodate people returning to Arunachal from other states of the country.

Addressing a review meeting later, Dr Swaroop urged all to work in coordination to ensure the timely completion of the centre and to ensure that all basic facilities are available in the facility to which DC Dolum informed that administration, police, health and other work departments are working 24×7 to ensure the same.

“We are expecting a huge inflow of returnees as flight services has also been resumed along with railway. The SQC here can accommodate a total of 1120 persons once the entire complex is ready,” he said.

The deputy commissioner said the centre as of now is ready to accommodate 100 persons and all basic facilities like water, electricity etc are being made available.

Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) executive engineer Tadar Tarang informed that a sanitization team is stationed in the center 24×7 and the IMC is also carrying out sanitisation process regularly in all parts of the capital, including paid quarantines facilities.

Among others, district medical officer Dr Mandip Perme, capital superintendent of police Tumme Amo, Naharlagun extra assistant commissioner Likha Radh were also present in the meeting.
