Tripura has registered 3 more COVID19 positive cases taking the state total to 192.

Confirming the detection of 3 new positive cases in the state, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday night said 991 samples were tested on the day, out of which 3 samples were found COVID19 positive.

The chief minister also informed that all the infected patients are returnees, who came from Delhi by Rajdhani Express.

“991 samples have been tested today in #Tripura for COVID-19. Among them 3 persons found COVID19 #POSITIVE. All of them have returned from #Delhi by Rajdhani Express,” tweeted chief minister Deb.

Tripura education minister Ratn Lal Nath on Sunday said 12 more patients have been discharged from hospitals after their recovery.

The recovery rate is around 86 per cent in Tripura.

Till date, 165 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

On Saturday Tripura registered 16 COVID19 positive cases.

All the infected patients tested positive on Saturday came from Mumbai by train on Thursday night to Agartala.

Chief minister Deb had said a total of 996 samples were tested for COVID19 in the state on Saturday, out of which 16 persons tested positive.

On Sunday the number of COVID19 cases in India rose to 1,31,868 with 6,767 new infections reported in the last 24 hours.

Of the total cases, 73,560 cases are active infections while 54,440 patients have been discharged after their recovery.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 3,867 people in India.
