Assam has registered two more COVID19 positive cases on Sunday taking the total to 352.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday evening said the infected patients have been detected in the quarantine centre at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
Sarma informed that while one of the persons is from Nagaon district, another person is a resident of Hojai district.
“Alert ~ Two persons at Sarusajai quarantine centre, 1 each from Nagaon and Hojai, test #COVID19+,” health minister Sarma tweeted at 5.30 pm on Sunday.
With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam has increased to 288.
Earlier, a total of 57 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the state after their complete recovery from the disease.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 2 cases migrated from the state.
“Total cases 352. Recovered 57. Active cases 288. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” he added.
According to the Union health ministry website, India has so far recorded a total of 1,31,868 COVID19 positive cases with 3,867.
A total of 54,440 COVID19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals across India after their recovery while one patient has been migrated.
