As the New Delhi-Dibrugarh Passenger Special train which is scheduled to reach Kokrajhar at 5 pm, health and railway officials have geared up to receive the passengers.
According to NF Railway officials, more than 840 passengers are travelling in the special train.
The first stop for the train in Assam is at Kokrajhar.
Railway and the Assam health department have made special arrangements to receive the passengers at Kokrajhar railway stations.
Entire Kokrajhar railway has been sanitized as the special train is likely to halt for about 5 minutes in Kokrajhar.
Altogether 10 passengers are scheduled to disembark at Kokrajhar railway station, the officials said.
From the railway station, the passengers will be taken to Kokrajhar SAI Stadium for quarantine, the officials said.
The special train is scheduled to reach Guwahati at 8.15 pm and ultimately terminate at Dibrugarh at 7 am on Thursday, the officials said.
Special arrangements have been made at Dibrugarh to receive the passengers.
Dibrugarh District authorities will carry the passengers by buses to the institutional quarantine facilities.
From Dibrugarh, some of the passengers travelling in the train are likely to proceed to Arunachal Pradesh, the officials said.
