The Mizoram government on Wednesday launched a portal for the people of Mizoram, who are stranded in different parts of the country.

Chief minister Zoramthanga announced the launch in his twitter handle.

He said the Mizos, who are stranded in different parts of the country, can report and submit their details to an official website- tankhang.mizoram.gov.in.

Meanwhile, the State Government has expressed apology for inconvenience to bring back those stranded in the north-eastern states.

The government in a statement said though it has planned to make arrangement for the return of state residents, who are stranded in different parts of the Northeast due to lockdown, such measure could not be executed due to the extension of lockdown till May 3.

It said it faced inconvenience as the Union Ministry of Home Affairs framed new guidelines prohibiting inter-state and inter-district movement except for medical emergency.
