Tripura has registered the second COVID19 positive case on Friday.
Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the patient is a 32-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh.
The infected man, who has currently been staying at Damcherra in North Tripura district, travelled along with Tripura’s first COVID19 positive case in train, said chief minister Deb.
Informing about the news chief minister Deb tweeted at 7:47 pm on Friday: “ALERT! One more #COVID19 positive case in Tripura has been confirmed, taking the total number to 02.”
“The patient is 32 years old Male from Madhya Pradesh and currently staying at Damcherra & has travelled along with the last COVID19 positive patient in train,” he added.
According to sources, the infected person is a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan.

The chief minister urged the people of the state not to panic saying “we are taking all possible measures to keep everyone secure”.
He tweeted: “Stay Home Stay Safe and Co-operate with Government.”
Tripura had registered the first COVID19 positive case on Monday.
The 45-year-old woman, who has been infected with the deadly virus and undergoing treatment in the state’s capital, is from Udaipur under Gomoti district.
The patient was tested positive in the Agartala Medical College Hospital.
