In the last two days, a total of 11 suspected COVID19 cases have been quarantined in Baksa’s Nagrijul Model Hospital.

The 30-bedded Nagrijul Model Hospital has been converted into a COVID19 hospital to keep suspected COVID19 cases.

“In last two days, a total 11 people have been quarantined in the Nagrijuli Model Hospital,” official sources said.

On April 1, a 5-member family from Nagrijuli area was caught at Tamulpur by Tamulpur Police while they were returning from Bihar after treatment in an ambulance.

They were later sent to Baksa district headquarters Mushalpur for health check-up.

After health check-up they were quarantined in their own home.

“After completion of the quarantine centre, they have been shifted to the Nagrijuli Model Hospital for quarantine,” official sources added.

Moreover, six persons from Uttar Pradesh were working as labourers in Suklai area under Tamulpur Sub-division.

As they came from outside the state, they were also taken to the Baksa district headquarters for heath examination and after that they have been kept under quarantine at the same centre in Nagrijuli.

On Sunday, Tonmoy Borah, circle officer (Attached) of Tamulpur Revenue Circle and Baksa district Tuberculosis officer, visited the Nagrijuli Model Hospital to take stock of the heath conditions of the persons whom have been quarantined there.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Manohar Das said though the Nagrijuli hospital has been converted into a quarantine centre to break COVID19 chain, but no sufficient equipment and sanitizers have been supplied to the hospital for protection of the doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital.

Dr. Das also added that as there is no any permanent sweeper in the hospital, so the hospital authority has faced a major problem to keep the persons in proper hygienic environment.

Dr. Das has requested the higher authorities to supply sufficient personal protection equipment (PPE) and sanitizers to run the hospital in a smooth manner.
