A special training programme on COVID19 pandemic was held on Sunday under the aegis of the District Health Society, Chirang in the conference hall of the Bodoland Guest House.

The training was attended  by Dr. Banmali Dutta, Pathologist, Dr. Debodeep Kalita, Community Medicine specialist and Dr. Swapna Kakati, Community Medicine specialist, all from Fakaruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College, Barpeta as resource persons.

During the training period, a total of 65 trainees including doctors, staff nurses, laboratory technicians, pharmacists and cleaners were imparted training in three batches with the help of power point presentation.

They were imparted training by the experts on maintaining distancing, proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits and guidelines for handling, treatment and disposal of waste generated during the treatment of COVID19 infected patient.

The training was formally inaugurated by Joint Director, Health Services, Chirang, Ratul Chandra Bordoloi in the presence of Gautam Talukdar, deputy commissioner, Chirang and other senior doctors of Chirang district.

As on Sunday, five suspected patients have been put into isolation ward and out of 1,824 home-quarantined people, 1,233 have passed home quarantine period without any Coronavirus positive sign or symptom in Chirang district.
