The Tripura government has sent 15 persons out of 22 to quarantine after reports emerged that they had taken part in a religious gathering in Nizamuddin in New Delhi.
Tripura health secretary Debasis Basu informed that the state government received information about these 22 men from sources from Delhi.
“After we received the information, we alerted the Tripura police and the information bureau (IB). The police have been able to identify 15 persons while seven are still untraceable,” Basu informed.
On Wednesday morning police and health officials detained 14 families from West Tripura District as members from these families went to the religious gathering in Nizamuddin in New Delhi.
That religious gathering in Nizamuddin had the attendance of over 2000 persons with delegates coming from Malaysia and Indonesia as well.
