The Meghalaya High Court on Tuesday quashed an FIR related to sexual assault and corruption against NEIGRIHMS director DM Thapa.
A woman on May 1 last year filed an FIR at Rynjah police station alleging that Thapa had tried to outrage her modesty besides demanding commission for medical supply.
A bench of justice HS Thangkhiew observed that criminal proceedings is maliciously instituted with an ulterior motive for wreaking vengeance on the accused and with a view to spite him due to private and personal grudge.
Director said that the the Court verdict has given him relief as the Justice has prevailed.
“I suffered a lot of mental agony for all these months for none of my faults,” he said.
