Thangmeiband Athletic Union (THAU) table tennis camp for the young paddlers (table tennis players) ended at THAU sports and recreational centre at Thangmeiband in Imphal West district on Sunday.

In the 25-day long winter coaching camp, a number of young table-tennis players from across the state participated.

The camp was organized in association with Shemrock Woodstock, Chingmeirong.

Five coaches including renowned head coach Th Upendra imparted training lessons to the young paddlers.

They imparted lessons as to how the young players can improve their game and their performances in competitive events.

Manipur state rural roads development agency chief engineer Thokchom Nandakishore Singh along with a host of table tennis lovers, functionaries of the table tennis association was present at the closing ceremony.

In his speech, Nandakishore expressed his desire to take up necessary steps to regenerate the spirit of table tennis clubs so that regular competitions can be initiated among the young players.

Opining the need to organise summer table tennis coaching camps as well, he also suggested a competition among the trainees at the end of the camp.
