A one-day Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) level consultation on ‘Strengthening Child Protection Mechanisms – Issues, Challenges and Way forward’ was organized by Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kokrajhar and NERSWN, a Kokrajhar based NGO on Thursday.

The consultation was organized with the aims and purpose for forging synergy of strategy and action on the ground among different child right stakeholders especially in BTC region thereby create a protective environment for all children and to strengthening mutual collaboration for the holistic development of under-privileged children.

Issues related to challenges and opportunities to child protection and children development and well being such, existing and emerging child protection mechanisms were discussed during the consultation.

BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Kokajhar deputy commissioner Partha Pratim Mazumdar, BTC secretary Bhawani Prasad Sharma, District Legal Services Authority Kokajhar Bidyut Medhi, BTC secretary Kuldeep Basumatary, CWC Kokrajhar Malati Rani Narzary, NERSWN executive director Raju Narzary and other stakeholders were present in the programme.
