On the first day of the new year, the deputy commissioner of Assam’s Sivasagar, Dr M S Lakshmi Priya launched a new initiative, entitled, ‘Praveshotsav- the Utsav Vidyarambha’ to welcome the students of the district into the new academic year.
The deputy commissioner ceremoniously began the initiative, ‘Praveshotsav- the Utsav Vidyarambha’ from Lakhimi Nagar Middle English School in Sivasagar.
She welcomed the students to their respective classes by cutting ribbons.
Attending the school’s morning assembly, the deputy commissioner extended warm wishes to the teachers, the students and the parents for the New Year.
She encouraged the students to study hard in order to excel in life.
She also suggested the teachers and parents to give the students proper guidance for a better future.
The deputy commissioner also exhorted the students to take active participation in sports and other extra-curricular activities for their all-round growth and development.
During the programme, the deputy commissioner distributed free textbooks among the students.
The students enthralled the deputy commissioner by performing various cultural activities.
The deputy commissioner also attended Praveshotsav programmes organized at other schools like: Lakshminath Bezbaroa Sishu Bhawan, No. 1 Amguri Primary School, Rudra Sagar Primary School and Mogorhaat Gyan Vikash High School etc in Sivasagar.
It may be noted that under the initiative Praveshotsav – the Utsav Vidyarambha, all the schools in the district extended their students a grand welcome.
Other activities carried out under the initiative are: hoisting of the school flags, ribbon cutting and entering the school by the students, sweets distribution, textbooks distribution etc.
The programmes were organized by the respective school management committees (SMCs) and local community.
It aims to encourage the kids to move ahead in life by embracing the right kind of education.
