At least one person was killed and several others injured when a Jorhat bound bus collided head-on with an oil tanker at Koliabor on Wednesday afternoon.
The impact of the collision was so massive that it left 45 persons seriously injured.

The tanker was headed towards Nagaon and the bus was on its way from Guwahati when the accident occurred.

The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital with locals and police jumping in equally into the rescue operation.

In a separate accident on Tuesday night, two persons were killed on the spot and several others seriously injured when a speeding vehicle hit shops and bystanders at Mission Chariali.
The deceased were identified as Tun Deka and Karuna Tamuli respectively of Rangapukhuri and Dekargaon.
The vehicle hit a tree after it ran over shops.
The driver was struck in the car due to the impact of the accident and he was later rescued by a team of SDRF and police.
