During a joint military exercise in the US, Indian and American soldiers sang Badluram ka badan zameen ke neeche hai– Indian Army’s favourite marching song.
The soldiers from both the nations also danced to the popular marching song, which is dedicated to Badluram- a soldier in the Assam regiment killed during World War II.
In a video released by a news agency, the soldiers from both the nation were singing and dancing to the popular regimental song.
Badluram, in whose memory the song is composed, was a soldier in the Assam Regiment.
Even though he was killed in World War II, but his name remained in the rolls as one officer forgot to report Badluram’s death to the Army.
His share of ration also continued to be accounted for.
It was Badluram’s ration that helped the Indian troops to survive when the Japanese got the better of them and they were left with no supplies.
As part of the ongoing Indo-US defence cooperation, joint military training is being conducted at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
The training is named Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2019 and it is being conducted in the USA from September 5 to September 18.
The exercise provides an opportunity to the armed forces of both the nations to train in an integrated manner at Battalion level with joint planning at the Brigade level.
This is the 15th edition of Exercise Yudh Abhyas and it is hosted alternately by the two nations.
