Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma launched several initiatives to boost the MSME sector in the state.

The chief minister opened Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP), MSME Facilitation Cell and MSME Portals in a function held at Vanala Hall in Aizawl.

Speaking on the occasion, he outlined his government’s plans for the development of MSME units in Mizoram.

The chief minister emphasised that his administration wanted to make the industrial sector revival happen during their tenure.

However, due to the declaration of the current year as a “year of consolidation,”  the focus will initially be on industries related to ginger, areca nut and other agriculture-based products, he said.

He challenged young Mizo entrepreneurs to venture into business, to start their start-ups.

He also urged existing units to enhance both their production levels and quality to meet market demand.

Lalduhoma said that the government would not ignore and leave unsupported those who put forth their utmost effort to become economically sound.

The Mizoram government, he pledged, will stand by them every step of the way, even offering hundred per cent subsidies on bank interest for those who demonstrate deserving efforts.
