Celebrated actor Mukesh Khanna had recently announced that the 90’s popular television serial Shaktimaan will come back once again on television screens.

“130 crore Indians will together get the opportunity to watch Shaktiman on DD once again. Wait for the announcement.”
The actor also said that a sequel of the show is on the pipeline.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Khanna revealed that he has been working on the sequel for a while now.

“For the last three years, we have been working towards bringing out the second edition of Shaktimaan, which is contemporary, but rooted in our values because people wanted to know, aage kya hua,” he said.
“I feel whenever we return to work after this crisis, I will be in a better position to bring out the second part because the demand for it is higher than ever before,” he added.
After the retelecast of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana and BR Chopra’s Mahabharata, a number of people are demanding for the broadcast of Shaktimaan too.
Shaktimaan was a superhero television show which aired on DD 1 from September 13, 1997 to March 27, 2005.
Khanna, who also co-created the show played a double role in the show – the role of the superhero Shaktimaan and Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri who was a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz.
