Indian cricketer Risabh Pant, who suffered massive injuries after a terrible accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, was recently seen walking in a swimming pool with a stick on his left hand

Sharing  a video of him doing exercises in a swimming pool on his Instagram handle, Pant wrote, “Grateful for small things, big things, and everything in between”

This method of doing exercises in water is known as aquatic therapy where the physical properties of water are utilized to assist in patient healing and recovery

One of the huge benefits of aquatic therapy is that when submerged in water, buoyancy assists in supporting the weight of the patient and reduces the force of stress placed on the joints

As the pain is reduced by a large extent, patients with arthritis or fractures can perform exercise more calmly in water that may be difficult for them on ground

According to researchers of John Hopkins University, exercising in a pool without carrying your full body weight can help you ease into activity and start rehabilitation earlier after an injury or surgery.

Pant, who had shared his health updates regularly with his fans had earlier shared snapshots of him walking with the help of crutches on his garden

Meanwhile, Pant’s fans who were happy to witness his stages of recovery flooded the comments section of his recent post with notes of good wishes and their desire of seeing him get back in action in the field
