Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again emerged as the world’s most popular leader leaving behind renowned political leaders like Joe Biden and Rishi Sunak

According to the survey conducted by business intelligence company Morning Consult, Modi has bagged the top position among government leaders of the world with an approval rating of 76%

“The latest approval ratings are based on data collected from March 22-28, 2023,” the company said in a statement

“Approval ratings are based on a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country, with sample sizes varying by country,” it added

Mexico’s president Andrés Manuel López Obrador has been placed at the second spot with 61% approval ratings and Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese came third with 55% approval

The first ever Prime Minister to be born after Independence, Modi also has the distinction of being the longest serving Chief Minister of Gujarat with his term spanning from October 2001 to May 2014

Born on September 17, 1950 in Gujarat, Modi completed his MA in political science from Gujarat University

As of March 2023, Modi has made 67 foreign trips, visiting 63 countries and has even been honoured with international honours including the highest civilian honour of Saudi Arabia Sash of King Abdulaziz

Modi has been also been conferred the top awards of Russia (The Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First), Palestine (Grand Collar of the State of Palestine), UAE (Zayed Medal) and Maldives (Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen).
