The scientific name of Maan Dhaniya or Bon Dhaniya  is Eryngium foetidum and it is popularly known as sawtooth coriander in English

Besides its high usage in Assamese cuisine, Maan Dhaniya is also widely found in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America but it is cultivated worldwide

This wild coriander which is widely used in seasoning, marinating and garnishing in many cuisines across the world has been used in traditional medicine in tropical regions for several issues like burns, ear ache, constipation,  snake bites, diarrhea, and malaria
