Israeli filmmaker and International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa jury head Nadav Lapid’s comments on The Kashmir Files have sparked a huge controversy

Lapid’s views of the film being a ‘vulgar’ one has not gone down well with many Bollywood celebrities too

A number of celebs of B-town took to social media to show their support to Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s film that centred on the 1990s exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir

Anupam Kher , in a tweet, hit out at Lapid saying that ‘ the truth of The Kashmir Files is stuck like a thorn in the throat of some people so they are neither able to swallow it nor spit it out.’

Their soul is dead and they are desperately struggling to prove the film’s truth as a lie. But our film is now a movement, not a film. The despicable #Toolkit gang keep trying, he added

Darshan Kumar, who starred as an actor in The Kashmir Files, said that ‘the film is not on vulgarity but on reality’

Meanwhile, actor Puneet Issar condemned Lapid’s words by saying that ‘there is an international cabal works in sync with the Anti Nationals & Lutyens of our Country.’

Ranvir Shorey also protested against the IFFI jury head’s remarks by terming his words as ‘a shameful display of political opportunism’

Pallavi Joshi claimed that ‘a creative platform’ like IFFI ‘was used for a political agenda to preserve an old, false and jaded narrative about Kashmir’

Meanwhile, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri termed Lapid’s comments as shocking as it was ‘voiced at the stage of an event organised by the government on India.’
