The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Jitendra Debbarma, a resident of Balaramthakur Para of Jirania in West Tripura.

He worked for Chini khorang, a Kakborok channel in Tripura as a cameraman.

He was also a well-known composer among the indigenous people.

Debbarma informed, “Jitendra was suffering from COVID19 infection for the last seven days.”

“As his condition turned critical this morning, he was shifted to Khumlung Hospital where he succumbed to the disease,” he added.

Debbarma is survived by two minor daughters.

So far, a total of 329 people have died of COVID19 infections in Tripura.

Tripura recorded the first COVID19 death on June 8.
