With the COVID-19 situation still being a major concern for the state. Assam on Wednesday reported 3274 new cases.
As per the health department, the overall positivity percentage on Wednesday stood at 6.56 per cent.

Of the total cases in Assam, 1138 were reported from Kamrup Metro while the state in total reported four death in connection with the virus.
The recovery rate was recorded at 96.96 per cent.

Apart from these, there were no reports of any Omicron case in the state.
It may be mentioned that in order to prevent the further spread of the virus, the government has put in several restrictions including a night curfew.
However, on Wednesday the government announced a relaxation in the curfew timings because of Bohag Bihu and the “uruka” celebrations on Thursday night.

The night curfew timing has been scheduled from 11 pm to 4 am instead of 10 pm to 6 am on 13 January.
However, the government and district administrations have asked people to strictly follow coronavirus guidelines during the celebrations.
