Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday tested positive for covid19.
The news has been confirmed by the office of the Vice President.

A statement, issued by the office of the Vice President, said Naidu underwent a test for COVID19 in the morning on Tuesday and the result has come positive for the virus.
“The Vice President of India who underwent a routine COVID-19 test today morning has been tested positive. He is however, asymptomatic and in good health,” the official statement said.
The doctors have advised the Vice President to remain in home quarantine.

However, the wife of the Vice President, Usha Naidu has tested negative for the virus.
Despite her negative result, the Vice President’s wife is also in self-isolation.
“He has been advised home quarantine. His wife Smt. Usha Naidu has been tested negative and is in self-isolation,” said the statement.
