At least two personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police have succumbed to their injuries after being attacked by terrorists in Srinagar. 

12 more police personnel have also sustained injuries in the attack. 

“Among the injured police personnel, one assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a constable succumbed to their injuries,” police informed. 

Terrorists opened fired upon a police vehicle near Zewan in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar.  

All the injured personnel have been evacuated to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off and search is underway to nab the terrorists. 

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said: “Terrible news of a terror attack on a police bus on the outskirts of Srinagar. I unequivocally condemn this attack while at the same time send my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayers for the injured.”

“J&K Congress strongly condemns cowardly terrorist attack on Police Bus. Our condolences to all those brave hearts who lost their lives in this attack and pray for speedy recovery of the injured ones,” Jammu and Kashmir Congress tweeted.

On December 10, two policemen were martyred after terrorists fired upon at a police party in Gulshan Chowk area of Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir.
