The course will be held at the Department of Electrical Engineering, GIMT-Guwahati from 2 PM to 5 PM.

MATLAB is a computer programming language developed by Mathworks for scientific computing. It was designed to facilitate numerical computation without having to make use of low-level programming languages such as C or Fortran.

MATLAB’s syntax is relatively straightforward and may be easier to master than other high-level programming languages. It has many toolboxes that obviate the need to reinvent the wheel to solve nontrivial problems; this is very useful in a range of engineering and mathematical subjects that involve algorithms that have already been implemented.

MATLAB facilitates the representation of certain numerical problems – particularly those that involve linear algebra hence, many engineering problems that involve vectors, matrices, and tensors can be intuitively expressed with its syntax.

MATLAB provides additional functionality needed to solve problems in a wide range of disciplines such as control systems, computational biology, image and video processing, optimization, partial differential equations, signal processing, communications statistics and data analysis.

According to information, this short-term course aims to deliver a thorough and advanced learning of MATLAB & SIMULINK and their applications in engineering courses with special emphasis on Electrical Engineering field. This will help the participants to excel their concepts during practical and project works and also be benefited in future research and industrial career lives.

Sources stated, “This course is only for undergraduate students of Electrical Engineering (EE) and Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) departments of different technical colleges of Assam affiliated to ASTU and other universities. Certificates will be provided to the participants after successful completion of the course.”

The registration will be done on first come first serve basis and limited to maximum of 50 students.

Interested students have been asked to complete the registration form and send it to the coordinators of the course by March 19, 2018. The registration fee is Rs 250.

As per sources, Bikramjit Goswami, Senior Assistant Professor, ADBU, will attend the course as Resource Person.
