Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra on Friday came out in support of teen climate activist Greta Thunberg and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) campaign to save and protect children affected in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking to Twitter, Priyanka said that it is’ heartbreaking’ to see how the vulnerable children have been hit during the coronavirus and also urged her fans to donate towards their relief.
“It’s heartbreaking to see the effect of Covid-19 on vulnerable children across the world. They now have to cope with food shortages, strained healthcare systems, violence & lost education. We need to protect them.. the onus is on us,” Priyanka tweeted.

Greta had recently launched a child right driven campaign with Danish NGO Human Act to support UNICEF’s efforts to address the COVID-19 pandemic and protect children from its direct and knock-on consequences.
The actor had recently partnered with renowned shoe manufacturer Crocs to donate 10,000 pairs to healthcare workers at Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles and 10,000 more to healthcare professionals in public and government hospitals across India.
Priyanka along with her husband Nick Jonas had also contributed to PM-Cares Fund, UNICEF, Give India and Goonj among various other charities.
