On Tuesday, on the occasion of the Country’s 72nd Republic Day, PM Narendra Modi was seen sporting a beautiful red-coloured ‘Halari paghdi’ (royal head turban).

The turban was gifted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the Royal Family of Jamnagar in Gujarat for the Republic Day event.

The Royal Family of Jamnagar is recognised globally for their acts of humanity during times of crisis that hit the world.

In one of the most notable acts of humanity during World War 2, the then King of Jamnagar – Maharaja Jam Saheb Digvijay Singh, had saved 1000 children from Poland at the time when Hitler’s Army, SS and Luftwaffe were wreaking havoc in the Eastern Europe.

Poland still cherishes this gesture of Jamanagar’s erstwhile King.

The ‘Halari paghdi’ that PM Modi wore was red in colour with yellow dots.

The bright red-coloured ‘Halari paghdi’ that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sported was complemented by a grey jacket and cream coloured shawl.
