The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed chargesheet against 12 accused including 9 Bangladeshi nationals in an international human trafficking case.

The chrgesheet was filed in a special city court in Hyderabad.

NIA officials said the 12 accused are Ruhul Amin Dhali from West Bengal; Asad Hasan and Shareeful Shaik from Maharashtra; Abdul Barik Shaik, a resident of Bangladesh (absconding); Mohd Yousuf Khan, Bithi Begum, Mohd Rana Hussain and Mohammed Al Mamun, Sojib Shaik and Suresh Kumar Das, Mohd Abdulla Munshi and Mohd Ayub Shaik from Bangladesh.

Officials said a case no. 477/2019 u/s 370A (2) of the IPC, 1860 and Sections 3, 4, 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act was registered on September 21, 2019 at Pahadishareef PS in Hyderabad, following the arrest of 10 human traffickers by police from two brothels at Jalpally village, Balapur under Ranga Reddy district and Mahimood colony, Balapur in Hyderabad.

Four young Bangladeshi girls were rescued from the brothels and several digital devices, fake Indian identity documents and other incriminating materials were seized, officials said.

An investigation by NIA established that the arrested accused were associates of Ruhul Amin Dhali and Abdul Barik Sheikh, who illegally trafficked young girls from Bangladesh to India and vice versa.

Ruhul Amin Dhali was arrested by NIA in December last year in another case.

The investigation further revealed that there were money transfers between Ruhul Amin Dhali and Abdul Barik Shaik as commission paid to the former for trafficking across the borders.

Ruhul Amin Dhali and 10 other arrested accused had illegally entered India in 1980s and established a prostitution racket along with Yusuf Khan and Bithi Begum (husband and wife) in various parts of India.

The 12 accused hatched a criminal conspiracy along with their associates in Bangladesh to look for young Bangladeshi girls in the age group of 19-25 years and traffick them to India by crossing Sonai River and via Kolkata and then take them to various destinations in India including Mumbai and Hyderabad.

These girls are lured with a promise of lucrative jobs and a better quality of life in India. They are also provided fake Indian identity documents and are eventually forced into prostitution.

The rescued young girls are presently at shelter homes in Hyderabad and the arrested accused are in judicial custody in Hyderabad.

Further investigation in the case continues.
