Meanwhile, the special investigation team (SIT), which is probing the incident, in its report stated that the violence during the farmers’ protest was a “pre-planned” conspiracy to kill farmers.

The SIT has also filed an application before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) to include sections against the 13 accused to make their offence punishable under attempt to murder charges.

Ashish Mishra and the other accused are already booked under murder and conspiracy charges.

“PM is not taking any action. If no action is being taken despite the SIT report, then we have to say that the PM is protecting him,” Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said.

Kharge further said: “Minister Teni had once told the farmers to break their ‘satyagraha’, otherwise, he knows how to make it happen within two minutes. Maybe his son acted on this.”

“Police have filed an updated chargesheet. Its supervision is being done by a retired judge to ensure that the inquiry goes on properly. Son of MoS Home is involved and he himself was the conspirator. He along with 13 of his friends killed the farmers,” he added.
